The Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone

The Special Economic Zones Authority is developing, managing, and operationalizing SEZs in Dongo Kundu and other parts of the Kenya Coastal Region. Currently, the SEZ Authority is developing Dongo Kundu as a Public SEZ.

The Dongo Kundu SEZ is located in Mombasa, along the Eastern Africa coastline, occupying approx. 1,200 hectares (3,000 acres).

It is adjacent to Mombasa Port, Southern Bypass Road, Standard Gauge Railway, and the Moi International Airport. Dongo Kundu SEZ is a public Special Economic Zone, enjoying preferential customs rules  and reduced taxation standards

What Makes Dongo Kundu Special to Invest in

Prime Location: 

Dongo Kundu is located at the historical shipping hub connecting Africa to the World. It is adjacent to an International Airport, a Regional Railway network hub, and the Mombasa Seaport – A Preferred Port of Call for East Africa and the Middle East.

Infrastructure:

The Zone is connected to a dedicated sea port, railway, and a major highway.

Dongo Kundu boasts a dedicated power station, water and sewerage systems, and road networks.

Incentives:

Kenya offers SEZ investors a liberal array of financial and administrative incentives that are globally competitive.

Proposed Sectors:

Dongo Kundu SEZ is suited for various industries, and its planning has zoned areas for industrial activity, enterprise and trade, tourism, and port services.
